If you are a Senior carer, HCA or other Bands working in the Health and Social care setting in the UK and who are registered nurses back home, then you are lucky. NMC is accepting the Supporting information from your employer (SIFE) that demonstrates your ability to communicate effectively in English in a practice environment, if you were trained and assessed in English in a country where English is not a majority spoken language.And you have provided evidence to confirm this.
To do this, You must have worked in an unregulated role in one health or care setting in the UK for at least 12 months full time or full time equivalent if working part time had the same line manager for at least 6 months (we will accept supporting information from up to two line managers to cover 12 months or full time equivalent)
Until this process is fully automated, we will apply a manual process. The manual process involves:
• Applicant applies as normal on NMC Online. Or replies to the RFI open on their NMC online account
• NMC colleagues will get in touch with you directly, if we think you may be able to use supporting information from your employer (SIFE).
• We send a pdf form directly to your line manager to complete. If are unable to meet the requirements above, you will need to provide an alternative type of evidence such as a language test.
